About the Artist |

A childhood interest in art led to my studying Fine Arts at the University of Manitoba. Graduating with a BFA honours, (thesis in photography), I later received several grants, taught art, managed an art gallery, and exhibited work in several solo and group exhibitions. I completed the Creative Visionary Program under Nicholas Wilton at Art2Life. It gave me a new appreciation for abstract that is now showing up in new work. Stay tuned...
The landscape is deeply rooted within my identity and my memory. Having inherited a fascination with the weather from my grandfather, I paint light, clouds and movement. My images record prairie skies, its constantly changing weather and the land I stand on. I shape the land in glazes and layers, weathering the surface, creating lines and texture with collage and tools, much like natural forces that shape the earth.
My paintings convey the memory of landscape, the feel of the wind, or the power of a storm. My hope is that my work encourages those who view it to treasure and take care of the earth’s resources and treasures.
My studio is located in Portage la Prairie Manitoba where I reside, surrounded by the Canadian prairie.
